Refreshing a brand that's nearly 20 years old

Madrin has been around for almost 20 years. That's two decades of customers recognising a logo, a look, a feel. You don't get to just bin that because you fancy something trendier.

But the brand was showing its age. The colours felt dated — from a different era of the web. If we were giving Madrin its first-ever website, the look had to feel current, or it would undercut the whole point of modernising.

The goal wasn't a new brand. It was the same brand, in better light.

So we redesigned the colour palette: fresher and more modern, but built around what was already there — keeping the bones of a nearly-20-year-old identity while bringing it into today. Enough change to feel new; enough continuity that a long-time customer still knows exactly who they're looking at.

That balance — respect what's earned, refresh what's tired — is one of the trickiest calls in any small-business makeover. Change too little and it still looks dated; change too much and you throw away the recognition you spent 20 years building.

We went for evolution, not reinvention. And honestly, that's the right answer far more often than people think.
